FAQ

How does the order process work?

Ordering is easy with our secure online shopping cart. After you choose which size you would like to have your vintage metal photo panel created on, simply upload your digital image and select whether or not you need any advanced editing done to your photo before it is processed. If you do elect to have advanced editing done, you may leave your descriptive message in the custom editing box.

Here is an overview:

  1. Select what size you would like to purchase
  2. Upload your image where prompted
  3. Select whether or not you would like advanced editing performed on your photo
  4. If you elect advanced editing, please describe what you would like to have done
  5. Click on the "add to cart" button and you will be taken to your shopping cart
  6. If you have not already logged in, it will ask you to do so. If you are a new customer, you will enter your information at this time.
  7. Your shopping cart will appear with your order, shipping method and fee. Complete the checkout process and your order will be produced.

What resolution should my image be for uploading?

We typically like to say the higher the resolution, the better. The resolution from most current digital cameras works perfectly for your vintage metal photo panels.  If your camera is 5 mega pixel or higher and you've taken the photo at the highest setting with excellent lighting, you won't have a problem. If your image is grainy or unfocused, then it will have to print that way on your photo panel.  Unfortunately, we are unable to make an out of focus, lowly-lit or grainy photograph look like a professional high resolution photograph.  Please see some of our examples to get a better idea of how your image will ultimately print.

What image file formats do you accept?

We accept JPEG, Bitmap (.bmp) and GIF (.gif) image files.

Can I use my traditional flat prints?

Yes, you can. You have three options:

1.) Mail them to us. You can send your photos to our address below with your contact information including email and daytime phone numbers. Once we receive your order, we will contact you to review your order and product requirements. If this is a valuable photo, please make sure you send it utilizing a trackable shipping carrier. We will return your original photos with your metal photo panels. If you are sending the original to us for scanning, we can accept prints up to 9" x12" in size. Be sure to properly secure your photos in a photo mailer to prevent damage in shipping.

2.) Scan your photos. If you are scanning your own photos, you should use a flatbed scanner with a minimum resolution of 300dpi. Make sure you save in RGB JPEG mode. Use a high quality, low compression setting. See the suggested resolutions above for best results. Once you have your final acceptable image, you can then upload it to our site.

3.) Retail Stores. There are many retail stores that will scan your photo for you and copy to a CD or DVD. Just be sure and share with them the scanning requirements above.

Can I see my image before you print it?

We would not be able to meet the demands of production if we were to send out a proof of every photo before printing; however, we utilize the greatest care and the most talented in-house creative design team to work your photos and guarantee to produce the best quality image possible from the photo that you provide.

Do you have frame options?

Each one of our vintage metal photo panels has four holes for easy hanging.  You may also use an adhesive alligator clip on the back, in order to hang with just one hole.

Our photo panels are quite amenable to also being framed; however, we feel that using a frame with glass would diminish the true feel of these magnificent vintage prints.  If you wish to frame your new photo panel, we suggest that you do so without using the glass.

Can you print all of my professional pictures?

Please be sure that the images that you upload to us do not contain any copyright marks. We are not permitted to reproduce copyrighted material. Since you are uploading your own product, it will up to you to make sure you are not violating any copyrights.

Are there any restrictions on what type of photos can be printed?

You can print any digital image onto metal photo panels. There are no restrictions on what subjects can be printed; however, we reserve the right to refuse orders with questionable content. You also must be the copyright owner of the image or have obtained permission for reproduction from the copyright owner.

How do you ship?

We ship your product using the best possible way to get your product to you safely and in a reasonable amount of time. We typically use UPS and Federal Express, but sometimes the United States Post Office does a better job in certain locations. If you do not receive your product within 7 days after your purchase has been made, please contact our support email and we will get back to you within one business day.

What are your shipping charges?

Shipping charges are based on the size, weight, value and destination of your package. Your shipping charge will be calculated prior to your entering your payment information and will allow you to make any changes.

What if I want to ship my metal photo panels to someone else as a gift?

While we do not offer gift wrapping services, we are happy to ship your metal panels directly to your giftee, in order to save you additional postage costs.  When you place your order, you will be prompted to supply both a billing address and a shipping address.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do ship internationally.  The fees for international shipping will be calculated during checkout and will include everything including customs and duties.

Do you provide rush service?

Yes, we do.  Our metal panels are typically produced in approximately 3 – 5 business days. For a moderate convenience fee, you may opt to have your metal panels created within 36 hours and then choose either overnight or Priority 2-day shipping service.

Are you able to print text on my panel, such as names, dates or other information?

Of course, we are happy to add text to your custom metal photo panels. Adding text to your panel is considered an "Advanced Editing" fee and you should choose "Yes" for advanced editing when checking out. If you include advanced editing instructions but do not choose "Yes" for advanced editing, it will cause your order to be delayed, as there is a fee for advanced editing.

Why does it take about a week to print my metal photo panels?

All metal photo panels are printed with the utmost of care and the highest quality printing techniques.  We could not mass produce the masterpieces that we have earned our reputation for producing by churning out fast products on a daily basis. Each metal panel needs the proper time to be made into a true artwork.

What if my product arrives damaged?

If you notice your package is damaged while your delivery person is still present, please let the delivery driver know and have them note the damage. Please handle your prints carefully. We cannot replace a print that is damaged from mishandling after you receive it.

We have a very low rate of damaged packages; however, accidents do happen. If your package arrives damaged, please take photographs of the damage and contact us as soon as possible.

Do you guarantee your product?

Yes, we do! If for any reason you're not completely satisfied within fourteen days of shipping, please contact us for exchange or refund information and a return authorization form.  We guarantee that the quality of your metal panels will be the best that they can possibly be, given the images that you have provided.

Do you offer custom sizes?

We have several different sizes to choose from; however, we are able to create custom sizes within the range of our standard sizes. If you need a custom size for your photo or project, please contact us for a quote.

What if my rectangular photo is not a good fit on your square panel?

If you originally ordered a 12" x 12" panel and your photo is too rectangular for a square print, we are happy to offer you an upgrade to a 12" x 15" panel for an additional $25. In most cases, this will be a more than sufficient solution for sizing and you may still use the same precious rectangular photo in your collage.

I am a professional.  Do you offer discount prices and quantity pricing to the industry?

Yes, we do. Please contact customer support for more information.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Your card will be charged at the time of checkout so that the work on your custom made vintage metal photo panels may be begun just as soon as possible thereafter.

What if I forgot my password?

If you forget your password, go to the Log In page and click the link that says “Forgot your password?” You will be prompted to enter in the email address from the account and the site will email you instructions. Your existing password or a temporary password will be sent to you.

Vintage Metal Photo Panels are printed on aluminum that has a coating applied with state-of-the-art coating machines. The coating that is applied sometimes contains some small imperfections such as small divots or bumps. We inspect each sheet very carefully and if there are imperfections, we place them in the most unobtrusive parts of the image. We cannot remake prints due to these unavoidable imperfections.  In order for your photo panels to have our signature vintage look, your colors will vary dramatically from your original photo.  Please understand that your masterpieces could not otherwise be created.
